One possible lead involves a necklace Sally is understood to always wear. Her sisters have been unable to locate her John Hardy citrine pendant, attached to a silver chain, among her recovered belongings — strongly suggesting she was wearing it when she disappeared.
The pendant was received as a gift from a family member, purchased from a vintage jewellery store. Its absence from her belongings suggests she was wearing it at the time of her disappearance.
This information was reported by Real Vegas Locals, a prominent social media account providing updates on behalf of the family.
If you have seen this pendant or have any information about it, contact LVMPD immediately at 702-828-3111 or missingpersons@lvmpd.com
Timeline — Before She Disappeared
Sally, a frequent traveller to the US, was on a solo holiday that had already included stops in Palm Springs, California, before she arrived in the Las Vegas area.
June 17, 3:46 PM: Newly surfaced footage — recorded on an influencer's Meta smart glasses and shared publicly on June 28 — appears to show Sally outside the 7-Eleven, 4880 Boulder Highway, Las Vegas. A man approaches her and asks for her number. She tells him she has a boyfriend. He apologises and asks if she's waiting for her boyfriend, to which she replies, "No, I'm just gonna have a cigarette and go inside." He gets in his car and leaves. Police say they have no indication the man is connected to her disappearance and confirm the footage was provided to them before it was posted online.
June 19, ~8:00 PM: Sally texted friends: "I'm about to hike up Lone Mountain then go home — I fly back tomorrow."
June 19, 8:45–10:28 PM: CCTV placed Sally at Timbers Bar & Grill, a locals bar near UNLV. She arrived on foot, sat at the bar, had drinks, played gaming machines, spoke with other patrons, and used an ATM. Restaurant manager Jocelyn Zeigler-Arthur said she was "quiet" and appeared "happy." The detective's report noted she "did not appear to be under any stress and seemed calm and enjoying herself." She left alone around 10:28 PM, walking eastbound on Cheyenne Street.
Early hours, June 20: CCTV captured Sally returning to The Bungalows Hostel in downtown Las Vegas. There is no known CCTV of her leaving the hostel again.
June 20 morning: Property staff confirmed Sally checked out remotely via the hostel's website/app and left her luggage behind, saying she'd return for it. She then visited a nearby café she regularly used in Las Vegas, ordering breakfast and a protein smoothie.
June 20, ~1:02 PM: CCTV captured Sally leaving Smith's Marketplace in Las Vegas. Police believe she then boarded a local bus and was last seen near 9700 W. Skye Canyon Drive, consistent with the Mount Charleston / Lone Mountain corridor northwest of the Strip.
June 20, ~11:00 AM GMT-7 (approx.): Last contact with her family in Australia.
A Greyhound bus ticket she had purchased for Las Vegas → Los Angeles was never scanned. No CCTV shows her boarding that bus.
June 21: Sally failed to board her scheduled international flight home to Melbourne. Her family reported her missing shortly after.
